Delhi Floods: Water-level of the Yamuna River reached an all-time high of 208.48 metres on July 13, created a flood like situation in Delhi. Parts of the Ring Road were submerged, waist-deep water collected at the Monastery Market near Kashmere Gate, and thousands of people abandoned their homes on the Yamuna floodplains as the water level of the river rose. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal urged residents of low-lying areas to vacate their homes immediately. Drone footage of low-lying areas near Civil Lines, highlighted the national capital’s predicament as roads remained waterlogged and water from the Yamuna flooded high-rises.
